Damn voice to text from Android left out the rest of the comment — “which means it was a pretty damn good review”. I am slowly seeing more how you and Scott could be such great friends, by the way. You know, he just came out of retirement (and another marriage) and opened what seems to be a pretty banging club, so who knows what you might be up to after awhile.

I love the paintings I’m making now and some in the artworld seem to agree. As soon as I finish something (I have 15 paintings in various stage of completion) I’ll post them.

Didn’t it take something like ten years before the piece that Scott bought dried? Personally, I think that’s awesome.

Ryan, the one I’ve got hanging over my sofa right now didn’t fully dry until 2007 — almost 14 years after I stole I mean received it as a gift from Bill.

It must take a lot of courage and balls-to-the-wall stamina to build, equip and manage a club after years of semi-retirement, handling the stress and long hours, so my hat’s off to him.

There’s a lotta life to be lived after fifty. The recent paintings (some in progress) posted on this site seem to be continuations and extensions of themes that Bill has been exploring all along, and it’s a credit to him to be able to keep up the pace amidst hassling with the housing bureaucrats. The sign of a true unflagging creative spirit is being able to work under adverse and chaotic conditions. Wish I had this.

I’m looking forward to seeing these works on gallery walls and reading reviews someday in the future.

Thank you Gordian. I couldn’t agree with you more in regards to the work I’m doing now. It’s obvious to me that there’s a direct line between what was and what is. The difference being that now I don’t need all the apparatus. The there’s the whole prison experience informing the new pictures. As to the galleries, I don’t have any real ambition towards that anymore. I didn’t do so well with the success I had and am in no real hurry to deal with it again. If it happens, great. If not, that’s fine, too. I love making pictures. It’s the best part of my day. That is enough for me.

I should say, also, that Scott has always been a major inspiration to me but, god please, don’t tell him I said so.
