Everybody back in the pool

So I met with my HASA worker today and she admitted that no one really understands how housing in New York works. There’s an apartment in a building down the street from Tim’s place that is becoming available and she said she would try to get it for me. HASA rules forbid me from contacting the residence directly. It makes sense as housing should be available to the folks who are in the most need; not the folks who have the best connections. I’m applying for a peer counselor position at the clinic I go to which pays just enough for me to get a market-rate apartment. That does not mean Chelsea. That means way out in Brooklyn, Queens, or the Bronx. I’m totally good with that. I expect to have all this resolved by the end of March.
